Tutored tasting of 12 wines at Plumpton College
A tutored tasting on the impact of soil types, and viticultural and vinification practices on style of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
This tutored tasting is hosted as a partnership between Plumpton College Wine Division and the Consorzio of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG.
It will be led by Diego Tomasi and Sarah Abbott MW.
The tasting will share the latest research on the impact of soil types and viticultural practices on the quality and style of Prosecco Superiore. The session will include a tasting of 12 wines that exemplify the research findings. We will also explore how producers in Conegliano Valdobbiadene refine the Martinotti (Charmat) method of sparkling wine production to create top quality sparkling wine of diverse styles and distinctive personalities.
Signor Tomasi was a Researcher of Viticulture for thirty years before taking up the position of Director at the Consorzio of Conegliano Valdobbiadene earlier this year. Sarah Abbott is a UK-based Master of Wine, director of strategic marketing firm Swirl Wine Group, and specialist on the wines of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
Tickets are prioritised for students, alumni and industry guests of Plumpton College Wine Division, but we do have a small number of additional tickets available if you do not fall into either of these groups.
